Who are the Clinicians?

Ankur Bhagat, MSW, LCSW

My role as a therapist allows me to offer support and guidance to a client as they move through their emotional pain.  I believe that empathy and understanding are so important in the healing process.  Additionally, I enjoy providing guidance to assist someone in discovering skills that can truly transform their overall level of functioning.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults, and families.  My particular areas of interest include depression, anxiety, stress and coping, parent counseling, grief and loss, and adjustments to life's transitions (job, school, divorce, etc)  I also have experience working with those individuals struggling with infertility and pregnancy loss. I am also skilled in working with those wanting to move past negative thoughts that leave them feeling "stuck."

Therapy is unique for each individual. Because of this, I have experience with many different therapeutic interventions (including EMDR and CBT) to help create a treatment environment that meets each client's needs.

I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Biology and a graduate of the Social Work program at the University of Georgia in Athens with a Master's in Social Work.  I have been practicing for over 20 years as an LCSW. I am in a network with Cigna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Tricare, Aetna/Horizon Health Employee Assistance Program, and Ambetter.

Adina Ambar Middleman, MSW, LCSW

Life can send unexpected events our way and it’s important to find resources to help us cope, heal, and move beyond adversity. I have served an eclectic population in my 20+ years as a social worker and believe that my experiences both in and out of the therapy office have enhanced my ability to provide empathetic and multi-faceted clinical treatment to adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My expertise and interests focus on life's varying transitions. I enjoy working with those who may be struggling with family dynamics, relationship pain, school/work stressors, and/or identity issues.

I have a wide range of experience working with clients who wrestle with unhealthy communication patterns. This is often the primary cause of individual and family strife. Guiding clients toward empathetic understanding and providing appropriate self-advocacy tools can help heal individual wounds and bridge gaps between friends and family members.

I have clinical expertise in the areas of blended families, separation/divorce, foster care, adoption, inter-racial family dynamics, sexuality, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder,  ADHD, ODD, parenting, sexual abuse, and domestic violence.  I accept many insurances both in and out of network and also provide a negotiable sliding scale fee if that is deemed appropriate.

I utilize an eclectic therapeutic approach and encourage the client to be the ultimate guide in the treatment process. During times of adjustment, strengthening one's self-awareness, self-esteem and self-worth can often eliminate the negative symptoms that often come with difficult change. I believe that everyone is capable of finding his/her inner strength and therapy can help to lead you towards that achievable goal.

I am in the network for BCBS, Tricare, and Aetna. I will also bill for out-of-network insurance if that is preferred.

I have been working in the mental health field for over 20 years.  Throughout this time, I have had the honor to work with amazing individuals, couples, and families.  I use an eclectic approach to help those overcome any life obstacles or challenges.  These challenges may consist of depression, anxiety, maladaptive behaviors, trauma, sexuality, parenting, family dynamics, divorce, ADHD, and other life matters.  I work with all ages and populations and am trained in SAFE EMDR (Somatic and Attachment Focused Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing therapy).

I believe therapy is a means of professional aid and guidance to create positive change to accomplish one’s goals.  I help my clients achieve their goals with clinical knowledge and interventions while providing an environment of compassion, support, and empathy that promotes insight, empowerment, and therefore change.  Please let me help and guide you with this process.
